Default 1k Build, From Scratch

So I'm making a new build from scratch and was wondering what you guys think about it. I have no parts, so if any peripherals are missing let me know. I'm going to dual boot Ubuntu and Windows 7, I was wondering if I would have any trouble with these parts. Also, should I bump up my case to a full tower?

I would save a little more to get least a 22' monitor.
Such as this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824179051

And cheaper PSU:

Might also want to get a cheaper case.

Other than that it looks fine.

I consider rebates as a deduction in price, so the power supply and case are already pretty cheap.

there's a deal with your PSU and HD
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

also, get this optical as it has free shipping
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners

you could upgrade to this monitor which has free shipping:
Newegg.com - Acer H213H bmid Black 21.5" 5ms HDMI Full HD 1080P Widescreen 16:9 LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 20000:1 Built-in Speakers - LCD Monitors

and total including shipping is $994.90

only thing that incurs a shipping charge is your case.

I would also need an IDE to sata converter for that drive correct?

Good call on the monitor, at the time I made my build, the 18.5" was $99 w/ free shipping. I guess the price went up.

I think aliasaid made an honest mistake with linking to the IDE optical. Stick with sata
