Here some good ram:

a nice power supply:

Do you need everything? Like monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc? I'm sure you can use those from your previous system.

Heres 1GB (2x512) ram that will shave off 100+ from the previous I suggested:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231064

Hard drive:

I suggested that power supply, since you might be looking at DX10 cards, and they need alot of power.

For a cheap but good looking case that has good airflow (has space for two 120mm case fans, Front/Rear) then get this case:

It might go out of stock this week since newegg only has 3 left.

If you need all the extras like case, monitor, keyboard etc you will have to cut back from the E6600 and go for an E6300 or just having 1 gig of ram. Thats if you want a decent graphics card, and for a gaming machine a graphics card will do more than a CPU.

Heres a build but its expensive doesnt include a case or keyboard, monitor, mouse etc:

CPU E6600:

Mobo gigabyte DS3:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128012

RAM G Skill 2 gigs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098

Hard drive seagate 250 Gigs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148144

Graphics card EVGA 7600gt:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130017

psu OCZ powerstream 600W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341001

TOTAL: $1028.95

So give us more info on what you need like monitor etc then we can get a better build for you.

i doubt youll be able to afford the E6600 if you only have $1000 and you need everything else.

E6600 ~320
DS3 ~150
DX10 Card ~500

theres no way that would work
