Go with whichever you're comfortable with, you don't want to get something and think 'maybe i shoulda gone with the other'.
The 5770 is a relatively new card, so the drivers for it still haven't matured yet. Its common for ATI drivers to improve over time, with significant improvement in performance (but of course, no guarantees on this one). Also, as newer DX11 games come out, the 5770 will perform better than the 4870 on those; so it appears that in the long run, the 5770 should be the better card.
If you do decide to go with the 4870, its also a great card, and you won't be disappointed with it i'm sure.
