$1300 Gaming rig

Okay I got around 1300 dollars to spend on a pc.

I'll be building it myself...

I would like to get a monitor with that price but I could just use the one I have now and wait till xmas for another.

Intel please, also I would like a GTX 285.

one of the new 5850's would be a better choice. it is faster than the 285 in pretty much every test, and is quite a bit cheaper too.

Yeah, if you are waiting till xmas for a monitor, you could even fit a 5870 into your budget. I'm assuming you want to go i7 or i5.
