Default $1100 budget build for canada :/

Can you help my friend out with building a $1100 gameing rig that will play cs:s no problem and will be a bit future proofed?

But hes from canada so :P parts need to be orderd off of here

Computers at TigerDirect.ca

He sounded like he wanted to go with a 680i, i didnt recommend it though...

I was thinking of hooking him up with a good dual core intel since they seem to be better for gaming as everyone says...

And he plans on buying a 8800 gt 512, i convinced him not to buy the superclocked and go with the regular and oc it himself...

Thats the case he wants... but...if you guys recommend something diffrently tell me

NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Great Technology, Service and Selection. is the cheapest canadian site, tiger direct.ca is very over priced.
ncix is comparable to newegg fpr canada, ontop of that there are othe dealers that are great to but merc would know more about them than me, im a hard core ncix fan. also does he need a monitor os? and you linked a heat sink not a case.

Ya sorry about that bad link....

Thanks for the site recommendation!

NCIX.com - Buy Intel Pentium Dual Core E2200 Dual Core Processor LGA775 2.2GHZ 800FSB 1MB Retail - BX80557E2200 In Canada.

That cpu looks weak, can't he get something better for 100? Dont be scared to recommend AMD.

Yup an 8800 gt looks good...

What is the diffrence between the galaxy and the evga other then price?

I mean i know galaxy doesn't come with the step up but its a little bit cheaper then the evga..

NCIX.com - Buy Galaxy GeForce 8800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ DDR3 PCI-E DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out OEM Video Card - 88YFF6HUFEXX In Canada.

or

NCIX.com - Buy EVGA E-GEFORCE 8800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card - 512-P3-N801-AR In Canada.

For harddrive i was thinking the 32mb cache root... Its not that much more over the 16mb cache as far as price...

NCIX.com - Buy Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 3.5IN 500GB SATA2 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive - ST3500320AS In Canada.

How about this for PSU?

NCIX.com - Buy Silverstone Element ST50EF-PLUS 500W ATX12V 24PIN Power Supply W/120MM Fan Active PFC 80PLUS RoHS - ST50EF-PLUS In Canada.

Ill go with these babies for his ram

NCIX.com - Buy Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Kit W/ LEDs - BL2KIT12864AL804 In Canada.

How about this for the amd route...

NCIX.com - Buy ECS A770M-A V1.0 ATX AM2+ AMD770 SB600 Dual Channel DDR2 PCI-E16 SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard - A770M-A(V1.0) In Canada.

and
NCIX.com - Buy AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core Processor 2.3GHZ 4MB 95W Socket AM2+ - HD9600WCGDBOX In Canada.

Case im leaning on sending this one too him

NCIX.com - Buy Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Gamer Case 900 ATX 9 Drive Bay No PS Top USB2.0 1394 Audio - NINE HUNDRED In Canada.

I skimped out on the mobo a bit, and after all this it comes out to $1,008 not counting MIR and without shipping + tax... all of it off of NCIX also

so the list is

Processor = Phenom 9600
Mobo= ECS A770M-A V1.0 ATX AM2+ AMD770 SB600 Dual Channel DDR2 PCI-E16 SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard
GPU= Galaxy 8800 gt 512mb
Ram= Crucial Ballistix tracers
Case= Antec Nine Hundred Mid Tower Gamer Case 900 ATX 9 Drive Bay No PS Top USB2.0 1394 Audio
Hard drive= 500 gb, 32mb cache
PSU= Silverstone Element ST50EF-PLUS 500W ATX12V 24PIN Power Supply W/120MM Fan Active PFC 80PLUS RoHS

Think thats it so far, but HEY, that comes into his budget and is not a bad build AT ALL... Of course there isnt an aftermarket cpu cooler yet, and that mobo i assume is weak since it is cheap...

Suggestions please <3

Ok, well if someone thinks i should go with

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Dual Core Processor LGA775 3.0GHZ Wolfdale 1333FSB 6MB Retail *Limited Qty*

and suggests a good mobo then ill go with that because I heard it outperforms the q6600 in gameing...

How does that case look that i picked out for him?

i would go for a 3850 instead of a 8800gt to save some cash and switch the 9600 phenom with the q6600, its the same price, and it performs way better, and i would downgrade the case a litle to get a better mobo, i would also get regular tracers. i recomend this for a case NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster CM 690 Mid Tower Black ATX Case 5X5.25 5X3.5INT No PS Front USB Sound Firewire & eSATA - RC-690-KKN1 In Canada.
or this NCIX.com - Buy Thermaltake SopranoRS 101 Mid Tower ATX Case Black 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT No PSU Side Window - VG7000BWS In Canada.
or this NCIX.com - Buy Apevia X-PLORER 17IN ATX Tower Case 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT 2X80MM Fan Window LCD TEMP. DISP. Black - ATXB8KLW-BK In Canada.
with better and more fans. i would get this for ram NCIX.com - Buy Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - BL2KIT12864AA804 In Canada.
this mobo NCIX.com - Buy ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP ATX LGA775 P35 DDR2 1333FSB 2PCI-E16 3PCI 2PCI-E1 SATA2 Sound WLAN Motherboard - P5K-E/WIFI-AP In Canada. or
NCIX.com - Buy Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R ATX LGA775 Conroe P35 DDR2 1PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 SATA RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard - GA-P35-DS3R In Canada.
with this cpu NCIX.com - Buy Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor LGA775 Kentsfield 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 8MB Retail Box - BX80562Q6600 In Canada.
all of those parts are cheaper exept the mother board, itl be well woerth it, with the savings you might still be able to get the 8800gt
