Tell him that if he doesn't care about the money like this to let you have 7k from that and build yourself something incredible. Use the other 3k to build him a good and stable pc. Also take a look at this: http://www.apple.com/powermac/

Yeah I mean why not? I mean everybody is saying just buy a dell and give him the change back. You mean you can surf the web on a $500 pc? Well no joke, we all know that. The point is you have an oppurtunity to drop some serious cash into a box that 99% of people won't be able to build in there lifetime. I say if he is that rich and frivolous with his money, then go nuts and build a system that would be overkill in 5 years. Have some fun because I know I would jump all over a chance to spend 10K on a build.

why dont you just build him something cheap like a sempron or celeron
and then build your own mad gaming machine lol

davies system needs some adjustments, the graphics card = bad, xfx = bad get evga, and change those 500 gb drives to seagates.
