Welcome to Canada eh! Newegg.ca still has to sell in CAN $$$ which is trading at sub 0.80. Those are about the best prices you'll find in Canada, atleast they were last night.

You'll be hard pressed to put together a good i7 rig for $1000CAN without making some significant compromises. Especially if that $1000 includes taxes and S&H. The only way to do it would be to stage it, most of the components now + cheapo case/gpu/RAM, and then upgrade them later. That might get you around $1000. Otherwise you're looking at either a high end quad/dual system or wait a couple/few more months and it should be doable.

I'm fairly happy with the build so far but I saw on NCIX suprise sale they had the seasonic 500w (NCIX.com - Buy Seasonic S12II 500W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS 6+8PIN PCI-E W/ 120MM Fan - SS-500GB In Canada.) for $70. Would that be a better combo along with the Antec 300 for a case/ps instead of the sonata 3?

Seasonic is a good brand, but for the money, the Corsair 650w is $97 from Direct Canada, and that Seasonic 500w is $114. So you might as well get the Corsair 650.

The Antec 300 is a good choice too.

Well thats regular price. I can pick it up in a suprise sale for $70. Would it be worth it than? It will be $10 cheaper with a antec 300 as oppose to the sonata 3

anybody know if the 4850 and 4870 will be dropping in price for canadian sites as well as the american ones? it might be worthwhile to wait for that if your looking for savings
