Lightbulb Is it worth upgrading my PC?

Recently I've been thinking of upgrading My PC for awhile now but the question dawned upon is this PC even worth upgrading and if so what components could I keep since I am tight on money $500 max for new parts. I built this rig 2 1/2 years ago and now when I'm looking around its amazing how much has changed @_@. So if any has some up to date advice for me thanks

The uses of my computer is 3d modeling, Photoshop and other intense editing programs and also be able to handle all recent games at decent frames.

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L

Memory:
Patriot 800 Mhz 2x2 GB RAM

Hard Drive:
3.0 TB (2x 1TB HD's, 150Gb Rapter Driver (Os Installed), 2x 500 GB HD)

Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

Monitor:
Duel Widescreen 19" Dell

Sound Card:
X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series

Operating System:
Windows 7

Computer Case:
Cosmos 1000

Here is a very strong upgrade that can lead you in the right direction but after this i would take a newer GPU into serious consideration
but this will get you closer to the modern tech.

BUT this depends on your psu wattage
there's a little wiggle room in the budget if you need a new one.

woa nice yea my current power supply is a ThermalTake Toughpower 700 Watt PSU which I think should be enough. I slightly have a preference towards gigabyte motherboards though. Thanks for your help :3

whats a good video card now days? I've primarily stayed with nvidia due to ati's problem with duel monitors flickering problem.

Depending on how intensive of gaming you're gonna do the best card for around 200 will be the GTX460 if you want bigger or smaller post a budget

Yea ill most likely get a cooler further down the line but as of right now I'm getting this thanks for the help ^_^

I just realized my mobo that I picked doesn't support the RAM so I got this instead which is compatible
