Default windows vista

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion w/Celeron 3.2GHz and 448 mb Ram. I'm currently using Windows XP operating system but have ordered the new "Vista". Someone informed that this will be very slow in my system. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so what can I add to speed things up? Thanks for any help on this matter!

You need more ram. Try to get at least a gig of ram. Then you should be fine. What are the rest of your specs?

hard for me to gauge these systems....the celerons....not sure the exact configs of the ones my 2 sisters bought...cheapies....

It's slow enough to load WXP, but I wonder if it's just the ram, lol

my E6600 spoils me, it rips through everything with ease on Vista.
