windows setup problem

I'm trying to install a copy of windows onto a freshly formatted hd but when loading the installation it hangs at the screen where it says "Setup is starting Windows..." I have already read the microsoft knowledge base articles regarding acpi and ide third party drivers and they dont help. anyone have any ideas?

I had similar problems with an old Duron of mine. The keyboard would stop working half way through the setup. Try just clearing the CMOS and see if that helps at all... it did for me

yeah i tried that, no luck... could it be a memory problem maybe?
