Default will this work?

I was thinking about getting the geforce 8800 for my 3rd build. Would that work cause somebody said you need the intel core 2 duo for that.

I need a good card for gaming and just want that one.

It'll work. It may be limited by your CPU, but it will still blow your mind.

I'm not sure... I remember it being mentioned on theinquirer.net, though. I'm thinking the time frame was 1Q07, possibly Feb.

nobody know? oh yeah and i read somewhere that the 8800gts has 128 pixelpipelines and was wondering if thats right? That thing would kick *** if thats right.

The 8800GTX is fast to the point you do not really care about a few fps...

And no. The GTX has 128 Stream Processors which is a renamed unified shader model so that is the combined pixel and shader pipelines. The GTS has 96.
