Yeah, should be fine, If you have the money you should get something better than a GTS250, maybe an ATI 5700 series card? Upto you though.

GTX260: Scan.co.uk: GX-260X-AHBF - 896MB XFX GTX 260 Black 55nm, 2000MHz GDDR3, GPU 680MHz, Shader 1440 MHz, 216 Cores

GTX275: Scan.co.uk: NE3TX257FT394_01 - 896MB Palit GTX 275 55nm, 2268MHz GDDR3, GPU 633 MHz, Shader 1404 MHz, 240 Cores

ATi Radeon HD5770: Scan.co.uk: HD-577A-ZNFC - 1GB XFX HD5770, PCI-E 2.0(x16), 1200MHz GDDR5, GPU 850MHz, Cores 800, 2x DL DVI-I/HDMI

would it work? yes. but you could do better for the money, unless you'd like to stick with nvidia.

either this
Newegg.com - XFX HD-575X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

or spend a little more on this
Newegg.com - HIS H577FM1GD Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

oh i assumed you already had that comp.

what do you mean type?

like form factor (atx, m-atx)? or like a specific model? there isn't much info on it.

what i meant about the type of the motherboard is, does nvidia or does radeom make it because if it nvidia make it i will get the 250 but if radeom make it i will get the 5770. most likely u guys wont know.

well that't not even something that would matter, it wouldn't affect performance at all.

if the mobo has an nvidia chipset, it won't be faster or better if you use a dedicated nvidia gfx card.

if you're not brand loyal, then both the cards i linked would be better for the money than a gts 250.

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, but all of the video cards listed in this thread are single gpu designs.
