I'm not going to be serious multi-tasking, but I would like to be able to run Photoshop and still do other stuff without my computer taking a minute to maximize IE or an IM. Right now I have a Dell laptop with a 700mhz CPU, 128 RAM, and a 10 GB HD and am trying to run this stuff. It does it, but VERY slowly. My limit is about $1200. Right now I am at $1150 with that current configuration.

PZEROFGH is right. Get the 6800 GS. The difference in price hardly exists between the 6800 and the 6800GS. You'll see a strong upgrade, and if you don't feel like spending the extra few bucks, then lower the processor to the 3200+. Heck, you can overclock it to 3500 speeds without breaking a sweat.

Since I'm not doing gaming would I really notice a difference? I originally had a 6600GT 128MB planned but a local computer place told me I should go 256MB so thats why I upgraded to the 6800.
