Will Replacing a Hard Drive Speed up my Comp?

Ive had my computer for a good 2 years now and teh other day I ordered some stuff on Ebuyer and they sent me a new 80Gb Seagate 7200rpm HD free of charge because of a mistake. Anyway my current HD is basically the same spec but if I was to change the old one for the new one would I see an increase in performance?

I know its a bit of a stupid question but the current one has been used and formatted so much. The computer is practically on 24/7 and has had a load of use in its short lifetime.

Only if your upgrading from 5400rpm to 7200 rpm or 7200rpm to 10000 rpm will you notice a bit of a difference.
