well, first, to install windows xp, id be putting windows 95 on it so i can put in the cd drive, then installing xp AFTER i put in the 128mb RAM stick
Will 128mb RAM improve performance??

yeah thats what I said

Not to sound stern or anything but your looking at dead slow loading times and such and with linux first of all your saving money and second your getting performance. Go ahead and get windows and be my guest, just dont complain to us when it takes you a half hour to boot into windows.

That's what I was about to say: try Linux on that thing, if you do get it. Unless you have some strange aversion to using anything but XP, that is, and if you do, I really don't know what to say...

Use their version of XP, i've heard that it works well.

[i]My friend is using it on a 366id Emachines, seems to work fast. And uses about 900MB HD space total. Normal XP takes about 1.5 GB.

ok, sounds cool, but does it still have all the xp look and compatibility (will windows media player 10 run like that)?

The LitePC is a Windows OS that is made to run on a low-speed computer.

Windows Media Player 11 is the newest media player BTW.

No, its just a program that allows people to uninstall utilities that arent in the add and remove panel!
