Default Will I see a performance increase? 5770 to 5850

Hi guys,

I recently made a purchase of a 5850 (Wasn't brand new but purchased from a well known members market). I currently have a 5770 which to be honest hasn't done me to bad at all but I was just after a bit more power.

I have looked at benchmarks and things but I don't fully understand it.

My question is simple, will a 5850 provide me with a noticeable performance increase?

Cheers

Sapphire HD 5850 1GB & Sapphire HD 5770 1GB Review

Based on ^, it should give you around a 10fps increase, which is noticeable.

Only 10? I was expecting more than that.

No it'll give you more than that. 5770 to 5850 is a substantial increase in performance. I ran on 5850ish (GTX465) power for 3 years.

Percentage wise, how much faster would you say the 5850 is?

Cheers

Can't really tell you off the bat as it's been about 2 years since I had some 5770s and the 5850 is in my gfs machine. All I can say for sure is it will be a noticeable difference.

You'll definitely notice the difference. And the percentage increase will vary depending on the game.
