will a dual core work on my mobo?

ok my mobo supoprts AMD socket 939, at the moment i have an AMD 64 3800+ venice @ 2.4Ghz. my mother board supports 64bit etc.. but it doesnt specify if it supports dual core or not, my question is (as i found my CPU but in dual core form pretty cheap) will this work as its the same socket type or does a mobo HAVE to be dual core compatible or will a single/dual core work as long as its the same socket type?

The mobo has support dual core. Post the make and model of your motherboard.

You should be able to run Dual Core with the latest BIOS update.
