Do I need to make sure that it's memory type is the same as the mobo's memory type?

The mobo I want uses DDR 400, the card says "memory type DDRII"

Would this be a problem?

no, all you haver to do is if your buying an AGP video card then you need a mobo with an AGP slot, if your buying a video card with PCIE-16 then you need a mobo with a pcie16 slot

memory on the video card doesnt matter, most newer cards use GDDR3 when the memory on your system only uses DDR or DDR2 for intel systems

also need to check your psu ;)
