Comparing the two really makes me lean towards buying the parts on newegg - I did have one more question:

Should I purchase any cooling fans?

The case I linked to has a 90mm rear fan already, but it can take a 120mm fan in the front. Yes, it would be a good idea to go ahead and get one as airflow is extremely important to the life of a computer.

The Samsung Spinpoint is a few bucks cheaper, but it has a three year warranty instead of a five.

Everything has been ordered.. now to wait. My husband's friend has built several of his own high performance gaming pcs so he will be putting mine together. But I plan on watching and learning every aspect along the way.

Good for you, Mar-e. Watch and learn so you can do your own upgrades later on.

For some reason I ordered everything but the OS this was the original link that I was given Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - Operating Systems I wanted to double check that this isn't an upgrade.. hubby went to best buy and they wanted $200 for the OS. I don't mind discounts just don't want to buy the wrong thing!

That is NOT an upgrade. That is a stand alone operating system and will work fine. Bought the exact same one myself and am using it right now.
