What to upgrade?

Current build

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition
MOBO: GA-990XA-UD3
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 2gb version.
RAM: 12 gb 1600mhz 8 + 2 + 2
PSU: OLD FAITHFULL.
HDD: 500GB 7200rpm.
Case: OLD FAITHFULL.
DVD: OLD FAITHFULL.

Also got a sound card and a tv tuner... both are fine.

I was thinking of getting an SSD and maybe a case.
Anything you think is worth getting?

Depends on the usage of your machine. Everybody can use an SSD IMO. What is your PSU? Power quality is a big deal to me, and should be to everybody no matter how good you think it is.

Ok that's a decent PSU, albeit on the border of recommended wattage. Yea I'd say you would see a huge performance increase in every day tasks and loading by going to an SSD if you are happy with FPS.

It really depends what you plan to use the computer for. I have a computer similar to yours in terms of processing power and an SSD was a nice addition. However, I have seen no huge increases except in installing programs or loading some maps in a game. Other than that, any other speed increases have been small.

Overall general feel of the computer is much faster. Make a regular HDD your main drive again and you'll see the difference. I guarantee it.
