Default what makes this price difference

when i was looking around at cpu's i noticed a huge price difference between two very simmilar AMD proccesors. Heres the links:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...u=CP1-AM2-4200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103739

the more expensive one is a 4000+ while the cheaper one is a 4200+, the only difference i noticed is that the pricier one has 1mb more cache

maybe tigerdirect is having a promotional offer or because AMD is droping the price for it's processors and tigerdirect has full stock of them while newegg is short in supplies.

Take a closer look at the CPU Speed: The less expensive CPU is at 2.2GHz, the more expensive is at 2GHz.

The CPU has no immediately visible info on the L1 or L2 cache, but I would wager that they are the same...?

Get it!

still, that does not justify the huge price difference.

it's called economics. i'll bet that newegg had surplus stock of that model processor when AMD announced it's price drops. now newegg certainly don't want to lose money on something they have already paid a considerable sum for so they will try to sell as many of these as possible at a price that covers what they paid for the stock. just because AMD lowers prices doesn't instantly mean a shop can lower theirs.

Well it makes a big difference if you price the same things...

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Tab=2&NoMapp=0

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103747

Newegg has the same one for less... Tigerdirect just puts the L2 Cache together instead of saying 2x512

the 4000 is 2x1MB L2 Cache... THAT IS THE BIG DIFFERENCE and why it's so much more
