Default What to look for in a motherboard and CPU?

There are soooo many options! What do you look for when buying a motherboard or CPU? What brands are better?

Any suggestions?

My budget is around 500-600 AUS which would be around 700-800 US...

I've been looking around and found this set-up. What do you think? Is it all compatible? From what I've read it is but I'm not the smartest when ti comes to computer hardware...

I suggest a P5B-E instead as its pretty much the same thing for cheaper.

Then for ram that ram is overpriced I think.

go with this stick.
