why? get the Opteron 170, Seriously, ur going to HAVE to overclock anywayz, if you get the Opteron 170 you can get it SO HIGH! but the 4400+ doesnt overclock as well.
are you a serious gamer? if you are, john is right, you will definately want to overclock after a while as today's games are getting super demanding and unless you're rich you can't really upgrade every 3 months or so. so if you really want better performance later overclocking is not a bad choice.
Just kinda confused about the overclocking thing. But i was reading the reviews on the 170 and someone had it running at 3.1Ghz so i think i will go with it and its cheaper. I'm just hard headed and needed it beat in. lol. thanks
Your Antec selection is awesome, my antec is some 6yrs old and still doing great. There's also an OCZ for $60 after rebate.
I'm looking for a PSU myself and curious if these brands have a difference.
Tiger has some HDD deals: seagate 250 gb $70 and Seagate 300GB W/ ULTRA enclosure $90 after rebate. That comes from an email sale which is $10 cheaper than their web site and they're both ATA not SATA. I don't know if you shop at tiger or if there's much of a difference between them, NE or someone else but that sure is a $/GB deal if you need that much.
Is there anything else I would need besides keyboard, mouse, speakers, OS, moniter. And do I need thermal paste if the cpu has a thermal pad. Is the cooling fans that come with case and cpu good enough?
