Was asked to build a computer for a family member. From what I was told it is gonna be used for general stuff. Don't think is will be used for any high end gaming. Want to see what yall think so far.

since its probably not going to be used for alot of gaming is it still worth getting the 8800gt.

If it's not going to be used primarily for gaming, skip the 8800GT. Get something like an HD3850 or an 8600GT.

Everything else looks fine.

Do you have a case? I also agree with b1g... getting the 3850 would allow you the "potential" to play some higher end games if wanted later on, but also not spending more than 200.00 for it. You might even be able to find a 8600GTS. also, if it's not going to be used for gaming much... I'm assuming "media" stuff??? you might want to look at a bigger (or 2) hard drive(s) 250GB can get filled up pretty quick!

You can also save some money, by going with this RAM kit:

Since it's not a high performance rig, you won't be needing something like that Corsair kit.

Still trying to decide on a case. Looking at getting a mid tower. As for the hard drive I think i will go with a larger one. If any would be played it wouldnt be graphic intensive games.

If the games aren't graphics intensive, then a 8800GT would be total overkill. The X1950PRO would be a good choice.
