still worth the usage, add 384RAM to make it to 512 and you have pretty fast system to use, or also you can use it as a server.

Do you know what the right type of ram would be for this system? I read that I have to get the right one for the computer to work correctly.

I'll recommend Kingston brand for their stability, BEST is, go to kingston website, and hey have this RAM selector wizard, will ask for your computer manufacturer , model and so on, and will give out all the compatible RAM available for your system.

dirct to Presario selection, as 5000 series is coming in 4-5 types, and I am not sure which one is yours.
