Just get 1gb ram if it doesnt and leave it alone. Externals are decent. My dad got a 300gb external for $100 off of tigerdirect.

1. If you have windows xp, Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System, other windows versions, Control Panel -> System, linux, good luck.

lol .... in Linux, run these commands:

lspci
lsusb
cat /proc/partitions
cat /proc/cpuinfo

and maybe even:

cat /proc/acpi* /proc/acpi*/*

There's all the information you could ever need.
