Default Want to upgrade cpu and memory but not sure what it can take ?

The motherboard has a 945g chipset and a 775 socket .
I have looked at how much ram it can take 4gb utilizing 3.5 gb .
I`ve searched the net and found a fair bit of info but I`m puzzled by the fact that it has a Celeron D 346 3.06GHz and a fsb of only 533 mhz.
A motherboard with 945g chipset should be able to take a a stronger
processor with a faster front side bus ,Right?
The motherboard is an MSI ms-7186 VER:1.0
Ive searched MSI site to no avail for info on this mobo.... and the computer manufacturers site only lists the computers fsb at 533mhz but does not mention the motherboard or the motherboard's maximum fsb .
As for the ram I found conflicting information,
some sites list DDR2 533 (PC2-4200) and DDR2 667(PC2-5300)
and DDR2-800 PC6400
I want to upgrade because it seems most gpu's above nvidia 6600 use
need a pentium 4 or above .
Thanks and please remember Im a newbie.

RAM's frequency doesn't matter that much as you can adjust it in the BIOS as need be.
Just make sure it's DDR2 RAM, and you should be fine.
