Default Is the VisionTek HD3650 > MSI X800 ?

I found this card at my local Staples priced down to $71.99

I didn't snatch it up because I wasn't sure if that was a good deal.

I currently have a MSI X800 and it's been good to me but wouldn't mind an upgrade especially if it's to be had for a good price. I see this card has a TV tuner, HDMI, and what seems to be onboard DVD encoding.

So how does this card compare to my existing card and is this a good deal?

Current card is the MSI X800

Graphics card Rankings

3650 = #45-#50, or around the performance of my old 7800GTX
X800 = #84

It would be a very nice improvement for you.

Make sure that it's the All-In-Wonder version, not just a regular HD 3650 for 71 bucks!

It is! Man I hope they have one left, that's already two votes for it......I looked around online and they're going for $150 or better

........

rk no offence but the 4670/9600GSO outperform the 3650 by liek 50%

Just grab a 4670/9600GSO insted.

My last card was an EAH 3650 with 512MB GDDR3.

No offense taken, matter of fact, thanks for the heads up.

I'm not a gamer so gaming performance isn't an issue for me. I was only going to get this card because of the seemingly awesome deal but when I went in today to pick it up I noticed that they had the card selling for $71 as the regular HD3650 w/1gb memory, not the All in Wonder which was positioned nearly behind said tag. They wanted $90 for the All in Wonder, which still is a decent deal since they are selling online for $150 or better but too much for me to pull the trigger especially since I really have no immediate need for it.

I got a suggestion from someone to pick up the HIS HD4650 512mb 128 bit DDR2 PCIe 2.0 x16 HDCP ready video card from the Egg for $60, ends up being $50 after MIR.

Any opinions on this card?

i would atleast get a card with gddr3 even if your not gaming, you may need the extra power down the line, and it would save you some cash if you went ahead and got a card with ddr3 now, rather than getting a low end card now and upgrading later.

for $65after mir @ newegg, you can pick up this (great bang for the buck)9600gso by evga

The HD 3650 is good if you don't want to game... and if you like TV Tuner cards and whatnot that's a great card

If you ever do need more power down the line like tastegw said.. this is a nice price

I would avoid the 9600gso 512mb, it only has 48 stream processors compared to 96 stream processors for the original 9600gso 384mb. The HD 4670 should be allot better as far as performance is concerned
