well, it depends. i fthe card is a 1.5V and the slot is a 3.3V it will fry one or both of them if you try, if the slot is capable of using 1.5V and 3.3V cards then you'll be fine, but depending on how old the computer is it should be compatible

Default can i find out what the slot voltage is? Is there a progam to run what will tell me that?

wow, someone should of givin you this info in the first reply... its very common nowledge:

"An AGP universal motherboard connector has no keys and therefore can accept any kind of AGP card. An AGP card with both voltage slots can be plugged into any kind of AGP motherboard connector. If you can plug an AGP card into an AGP motherboard connector, then neither the card nor the motherboard will be damaged (assuming they obey the AGP specifications)."

It should work, assuming theres no randome compatability issues between your motherboard chipset and GFX card.

Thanks seems that my agp slot is a universal slot, so i'll be able to run just about any card i'd like, as long as my power supply is adequate. those two sites helped a lot...thanks again!
