video card help

I have a amd sempron 3200+ 939 socket with 2 gigs of ram I am using the onboard video at the moment ( radeon 200 express) I have a pci-e slot open can I use and nvidia card or would it be better to use an ati card with the mobo I have? If I can use nvidia I am thinking about the 6800 series card as it has more pipelines then the 6600 series, what would be my best choice for around the 150 range as this is one I am thinking of

i think most people will say to get the 6800GS or the 7800GT

I would hiiiighly recommend saving a few more dollars and buying a 6800GS. You'll be thanking yourself that you did.
