My funds are limitted right now and could get a big fancy video card but it wouldn't work on this computer so was thinking maybe just upgrading video and waiting for new computer for a year or so.

Can someone suggest the best/cheapest videocard i could get for a..
p4 2.56ghz 1gig ram. Think the AGP is 8x on it. Main problem is tower is only 250watts. Right now it's running a diamond s110 9250 256megs (128x2).

If you need a list to check whats available to me these are my main sites and these are Canadian prices and i'm looking for 100 dollars or lower.

well u wont get much for that amount, if you can save up $88 dollars more you can buy a 6600GT! And that is a wicked card, well worth the money!

For those who mentioned the 6600 gt you guys are quoting US prices. I'm canadian. 6200 seems to be my best option like nitestick pointed out. Is this far better then what i have now and worth the cash? Or better off just waiting till i get a new machine.
What i have now..Ati diamond s110 9250 256megs or

XFX GeForce 6200 / 256MB DDR2 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1776106&CatId=935

That one you have picked out is going to do pretty well. It sports DDR2 onboard memory, not the 'Turbocache' technology. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with its performance.

Problem is don't know if my MB can do ddr2 or my power supply 250watts could handle it. Someone told me once they were surprised i could run the ati 9250 256 on 250watts.

Oh well really wanted to play Elder scroll Oblivion thats about to come out but guess I'm screwed. Sucks being broke.

The DDR2 is on the video card, so the mobo has nothing to do with it.

You can run a surprising amount of stuff on a 250W PSU. Nearly all non-gaming Dells, HPs, Gateways, etc have 250-300W PSUs.
