Hey, I have an HP Laptop, the Pavilion dv4000 and since it's a laptop, it's not all that powerful. A lot of games I play run slowly or are very laggy, and I was wondering if I should buy a new video card to help that. My question is, do video cards actually make your PCs run faster and better during games, not only make the graphics better? If they do make them run better, I'll get one as soon as I can, but what would you guys suggest that I get?

Edit: Oh, and money is an issue to, haha, I need something good and something that won't make me go broke. Preferably up to $100 USD.
Just read a post saying it's impossible to put a new video card in a laptop, but my laptop has a little slot in it, and I thought that was for new video cards. Am I wrong?
And if it IS impossible to put them in laptops, then can I pay to get one installed, and how much would that cost?
Sorry for all the questions, I have no idea about any of this stuff.

Thanks for any help

I was scared somebody would tell me that. Alright, well I guess I'll probably be investing in a non-portable PC pretty soon.
Thanks for the help
