I am going to install a Crucial C300 64GB SSD into my Compaq Presario CQ5500F W/ Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit as a second hard drive. I want to use it for booting my O/S. Is there a certain way I should use my recovery disc to perform this procedure?

I am sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong, but you will have to basically start over on the SSD. That means you will need to take your current drive out (physically or just disconnect it) and then reinstall Win7 on the SSD. you will have to reinstall all your programs as well, but I would install most if not all on the hard drive you have now (once it has been wiped/formatted). Be sure to backup your files beforehand, and then Google to see how to move the default user folders (Documents, Temp, etc) to the second disk.

This what I did when I moved to a SSD.
