Default Upgrading RAM for dx5150

New member to the forum and I have a question!

I recently bought an HP dx5150 desktop pc on ebay. I am a college student so I'm on a pretty tight budget, anyways it came with 1.5 gb of RAM and I wanted to upgrade to 3gb.

The trouble is when I go to Crucial they want to charge $84 for a 2gb upgrade, I've seen on ebay for $63.

Is there anything out their cheaper? I don't know how to find which memory is compatible with my system.

Here are the specs for it.

welcome. from those specs, it says your pc has 4 ram slots that take ddr 400. you say you have 1.5 gigs so im assuming you have a 1 gig stick and a 512mb stick. you can add 2 more gigs to have 3.5 total if you want.

i dont know why crucial charges so much. but you can pick up this 2gig (2 x 1gig) for $57

That'll do it! Thanks. Don't wanna create a new thread but do you think my a205 Satellite laptop is outdated? 2gb of RAM but it has a 1.6ghz celeron processor.

For gaming it is very outdated, especially with GMA 950 for its graphics. However, it should still be a decent machine for homework and surfing the net. It would definitely make a decent media machine as my wife uses an older Dell lappy with a 1.6 as her media center.
