Please forgive me if this is a stupid question but I haven't been able to find an answer.

I decided to upgrade the RAM on my Toshiba M60 Laptop and checked out various web sited that stated I should replace the standard memory with 2 1GB sticks for a maximum of 2GB. I ordered they on ebay from Memorychicks however they sent me 2 2GB sticks by mistake. My question is should I send the 2GB sticks back in exchange for 1GB or keep the 2GB and only install one?

Thanks in advance!

Did you get charged for 4 gig? or only 2gig?

If your laptop supports dual channel then 2x1gig would probably be better.
If you got charged for only 2 gig and received 4 gig then your in a moral debate.

^ He'd only be in a moral debate if they offered him free shipping both ways to correct the error, if not, then why should he pay for their mistake?

Memory

Standard Memory: 512MB DDR2, 533MHz (512MB x 1)
Maximum Memory: 2GB DDR2, 533MHz
Expansion Modules: 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, or 1024MB DDR2, 533MHz

According to the specs the laptop may not read 2GB sticks... although i'm not sure how reliable they are. Anyways, if i were you jand, i'd try to get them to correct their error and have them pay for shipping both ways. Good Luck.
