Hmm ok well I geuss my last question is do you know how to Identify the motherboard on a pc? my system info says it M5641(the same as my desktop model) I downloaded everest and It gave me that 1st model u said was incorrect. Or will I have to take my case apart?

Your system should support an upgrade to something like this:
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor BX80580Q8400

That'll provide a pretty big jump from your current CPU. All assuming the link you found is correct looks right to me though.

Well I geuss until I figure out that its useless. Thx for your help my pc is still under warranty Ill call acer about getting a manual tomorrow.

Thx Ill look into that cpu Its right in my price range.
