Ok right now you can see my specs in my sig, but i am currently using a socket 939 gigabyte mobo with AGP. I want to go pci express, and i ahve got liek $200 to do that. The thing is I am going to need a motherboard and a decent videocard for under $200.

I just bought battlefield 2142 and i can play find on medium, but with some lag, and low fps. My plan is to get a new mobo and videocard now, and then later get a dual core opty to go with it, and just stick with that. So what do you guys think would be good for a $200 budget?

I want a mobo that will be good for o/cing since my mobo now can't and i want to take advantage of my athlon 64 3000+ whiel i have it.

Thanx for your opinions.

for a video card you could pick up a recertified 6800gs (130$) or a x800GTO.. for motherboard you could search around newegg.. i'll give it a look right now as well

recertified 6800 gs 130.00

x800GTO 87.99

those should all do well, but i myself recommend the 6800gs

the only thing about the 7600 i didnt like is its 128 bit ram... while the 6800gs has 256 bit... i don't know how they compare side to side.. but give me a few minutes and i'll tell you how they stack up to each other...

as for the radeons... i just plain wouldnt suggest them.. because i hear.. supposedly, that most radeons other than the X1XX series have problems and don't support alot of new features

okay, after reading, go for the 7600 gs, its worth being 10 dollars more, its a good amount better in F.E.A.R, which is one of the most demanding games.. and thats reliable enough for me.. it was about a 10 fps difference which is a nice difference... the 7600 gt would be great

Thanx Nos Boost so basically you're saying 7600gt<7600gs<6800gs?

Only thing is do you knwo if that mobo can o/c pretty good? I want to try to get my Athlon 64 3000 (1.8) to at least liek 2.2 or 2.4. Do you think it would do it? Also if i do get this motherboard whatever videocard i get i'll probaly save up more later and run them in SLi.

Alrite that looks good, but my only other thing is this, after lookign at these charts the x850xt outperforms the 7600gt, and its only $100. It has 16 pipes and 256 bit interface.

Is it a better card? If i do go with an ati videocard think this mobo will be suitable, what do you guys think?
