I would like to upgrade my motherboard so that i can get more ram and maybe sli two video cards. I have no clue what I should be looking for I will list my specs right now. I am looking for a future purchase so no hurry.

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 970 processor, 3500 Mhz, 4 core

Installed memory: two 4gb sticks to equal 8gb (would love to have 16 but cant because motherboard does not allow it)

Motherboard: M5A78L-MLX Plus

GPU: EVGA GTX 660 (would love to have the change to sli two better ones)

Power Supply: OCZ 750W

So basically I just want to make it so i can upgrade my memory and graphics whenever i get to it.

You wont need more than 8GB of RAM for a long while. Also, a GTX 660 will last you a while too.

You'll need a board with a Lucid chip or figure out how to SLI hack an AMD chipset board.

There is also an old Nvidia chipset, the 980a. You will need to Ebay for one of those boards. They suck hard though. I suggest if you want to do all that then save up for a 680 and Intel rig.
