My friend has an HP pavilion m9177c .
Here's specs ...
HP Pavilion Elite m9100 Desktop PC series -  HP Pavilion Elite m9177c Desktop PC Product Specifications - c01312602 - HP Business Support Center

He wants a 2TB hard drive and more memory to speed it up.
First any advice for which memory and hard drive to use would be nice, and also he has windows 7 that he wants me to put on it.
My other question is, when i install windows 7 should I setup a partition just for the OS and programs, or should I just put it all on one drive. He is just using this computer for him and his family, loading pics on it and music, and some kids kindergarten school work.
Thanks for any input you guys can give me :)

Ok I thought I would add to my post, with some ideas of parts that I was thinking about for my upgrade
Memory
Newegg.com - CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS4GBKIT667D2 G

and as for hard drive, theres a few on newegg for 2tb but there is a big jump in pricing from $100 bucks then to $200 , not sure if the cheaper one is cheap for a reason
Newegg.com - CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS4GBKIT667D2 G
then here is the next cheapest
Newegg.com - LaCie 2big Spare Drive 301469 2TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

but i was thinking if I could talk him into a 1.5tb hard drive there is this one
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1501FASS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
and this one I think is pretty good.

The ram brand is excellent. but I'd go with something faster. Like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122

For the HD I'd go with either
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda XT ST32000641AS 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
or
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

When installing 7 I suggest having a seperate partition for personal files in case of total windows melt down. That way you have all the stuff you need nice and safe.
