Upgrading Dell 2400 GPU

I googled my question and most places I found says it uses a standard ATX PSU. I did not see any that said anything about using a adapter.

I contacted Dell and they were no help at all. They do not recommend upgrading the PSU because you would have to upgrade to a motherboard that supports the PSU. I may ask a local repair shop and see what they say.

you probably could run a 8400GS

I ran a 7900GS off a stock HP 300W

kicker is that 300W died after about 6 months

How can I find out the measurements of the PSU before I buy one? Most of them I looked at do not list the dimensions. What are the dimensions of the Corsair 400 watt?

read the following link, this discussion says you can use a regular ATX power supply. i have had to use the adapter to fix friends dell computers in the past. i have no idea when dell changed to regular ATX power supplies.

I went to Corsair's website to find out the measurements and the 400, 450, and 550 watt PSU will fit.

I will probably go with the one Muffin Man listed.

I am just glad I don't need any kind of an adapter.
