Would something like this be a noticable upgrade?

And, im am new to upgrading computers and stuff and i have found out that the motherboard has these expansion slots.

Does that mean that i look for a pci? or does it have to be like x16 or something like that, i am not sure.

One final question, since i am looking into a buying an oem processor, does that mean that i have to use thermal paste also?

It should. It is a 2.083 GHz chip, versus the 1.something already in it.

Oh, and OEM means CPU only, so, yes, you'd have to buy thermal paste.

4X AGP slot

You have an AGP slot. Even though it is only a 4x, it is still better than a PCI slot. PCI-E 16x is the current standard, but your motherboard doesn't have it. So be sure that whatever card you look at/buy is an AGP card.

Here's NewEgg's list of 4x/8x AGP cards:

there's a deal on the side of newegg that is 89 for a mobo and cpu.
Seems a good deal.

with the extra buy some ram/vid card.

From what I can find, the mobo/CPU deals that cheap are socket 754'2 with AGP, cheap motherboards. but still better than the system you're working with.
