Upgrading

okay ive ordered my new x1950XT card and it should be waiting at home for me.

i currently have a 7300GS card and im wondering what the best steps are for removing the old card and putting in and installing the new card

Uninstall the drivers right before you take it out. Pop in the new one, and load the drivers up. Nvidia drivers fully uninstall rather well.

Uninstall all of your 7300GS drivers and unplug your old VGA. Plug in the new VGA and run the drivers.
