Upgrade questions

Im upgrading my PC (compaq pesario with pentium 3), im gunna try to put (below) in it.

First question is it gunna work? and is it gunna be difficult (first timer)? and im gunna have to put new power source in but i dont know what so any suggestions will be apreciated

Some info on your current rig would be helpful. Specifically your current RAM, PSU, Case, and any periferals that you have plugged into the mobo.

As a safety precaution I would suggest getting a new case to transfer everything over to. Aside from being much cleaner than one that has been in use, they are usually easier to work in.

You might as well get a new computer. As you need new ram most likely for the motherboard. New os. etc...

Buy a new case and power supply, as a compaq has an unreliable power supply already but if it is only a p3 the watts won't be to support a 6600gt or athlon 64.

Is your OS available on CD/DVD, because if it is pre-installed on the Hard Drive it won't work on the DFI. You'll need new ram too, to boot....The more important question is what will you won't need. Also the Compaq Cases are impossible to mod, trust me i just had to buy a whole new rig because my compaq rig from 2003 was already dated...

The Power Supplies aren't just like brand name supplies like ANTEC or ZALMANN, they are custom fitted and also the connectors to the motherboard aren't standard as well...

dang! wish it didnt come to all that. I have 512 184pin ram and as far as other specs go not real sure. any case that comes with a power supply that would support that stuff.I have XP but would i have to buy the whole thing again or just re-format?

case looks fantastic and no u wont need new ram then. and u will still need a new psu cause the ones in cases are garbage.but u can try and see if it will work but dont count on it
