Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

So does this look like a good hard drive to pursue then?

For about $10 more, you can get 70GB more, with the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320mb 16mb cache hard drive.

Is seagate a good brand of hard drive to purchase?

I ask this because I bought an external Seagate, and I had very bad experience. Both hard drives failed.

I mean, what would you do after you've had a terrible experience with a hard drive.. it failed.. you sent it back... the warranty sends you a new one... that one fails after a year... warranty expires... and seagate says screw you we can't help you?

Theres nothing wrong with Western Digital. They're a great company too. Seagate and WD are the top 2 brands, of hard drives.

I will tell you something, this is for my gaming computer where I don't need much storage space. I reckon 250GB will be plenty for the "games". I have another computer for media and other documental storage. I'm sure if I pay $10 more on tops of that seagate I can get a 400GB or what not.
