Default Upgrade Free, but any good?

Hello guys.

I have a friend who smashed up his older PC, but his CPU and video card seems to work perfect.. So wonder if itīll be any good for me, and i canīt really find anything that tells me if my motherboard support the Quad.. But you guys can find my HP here : HP Pavilion a6236.sc desktop pc - HP Teknisk Support (Danmark - Dansk)

My friend is offering me his Intel Quad core 2,4GHZ for free, but would that do me any good? And is it possible ?

Ps. Not the big brains at computers btw..

your motherboard does not support the Q6600

Motherboard Specifications, P5LP-LE (Leonite) - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

this guy had a similar computer (same motherboard is used in your computer)
best processor/RAM for Asus P5LP-LE
