I need some friendly advice:

I want to upgrade my computer, and have a $350 budget.

Anyways, i'm going to list some parts, and could somebody tell me whether they are good or not, and if i can find a better bargain? Thanks...

VC: ASUS Radeon 9250 128MB AGP $42.13 CDN. I dont do gaming, i just need to dodge my chipset.

RAM: PQI power 512MB stick $50.60 CDN.

CD-RW: BenQ CD-RW 52X32X52 Black $20.52 CDN.

Case: RaidMax Astro ATX-268 w/ 350W PSU - $55 CDN.

Card Reader: Sabrent Card Reader - $12 CDN

HD: WD 250GB IDE 7200RPM - $93 CDN

Sorry.

I have:

Intel Celeron 2.66
512MB RAM
40GB W.D. HD
Intel 82845 64MB graphics chipset
LG 16X DVD-RW

I am not looking to game, that's why i have a low-end video card selected. I just want to dodge my chipset.

I do need a new case, because mine is cheap, loud, and ugly. Plus that one i listed has two case fans :D

Also, do i need to have two CD drives? Or will the DVD-RW do everything, including cloning CD's and DVDs?

The DVD-RW will handle it all, but I prefer having a plain DVD drive as well, so I can use it instead of wearing out the burner.

That's what i thought.

I might just get a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo, they're pretty nice, cheap, and won't wear out my burner that much.

from using it too much, yes.

I had a CD-ROM in my first computer, and the laser actually got out of place, and it malfunctioned.
