I just purchased a new computer and ordered what I thought was a WinTV card, but what was delivered is a USB TV stick (WinTV-HVR 950). I want to transfer my home VCR to DVD. Is this going to be as fast as a card would be? Are the any limitations to the USB that I would not have with a card? Also, I have a WinTV card, but it is at least 8 years old. Is there anything that is improved about the more recent cards? Would there be a compatiblility issue with Windows MCE and my old card? From some other posts that I've seen, it sounds like the MCE remote will not work with an older card.
I have not yet opened the TV stick box and am trying to figure out if I should return it and find a card instead, or even if my old card would work.
