tv monitor graphic options

on my laptop when I right click the desktop it gives me a choice to output to TV, monitor, notebook etc so that I can choose what I want to use. I have my PC hooked up to the tv through s-video and optical for sound, but there is no option for that. I was wondering if there is a way to set up the options like that so that I can use the tv for movies and gaming and the monitor for everything else rather than having to use my laptop. Thanks for the help

not unless it has the appropriate outputs on the laptop

I mean, is there anyway to set up my desktop pc so that when I can tell it when to output to the tv and when to output to a monitor. My laptop already has that option, I just would rather use my PC. Sorry if the first post was worded badly

ok then, do you actually use the tv and monitor like dual monitors or do you just use one or the other? depends on the graphics card because the drivers for both ATI and nVIDIA should be capable of doing what you want

I have a geforce 6800gt and would like to do one or the other, I'm not sure how to do this, but I guess I haven't messed around with all the options yet. .
