thats a good start!

only problem is you have an Intel CPU, and an AMD motherboard.

this seems to be a well priced CPU.

just to let you know, end of july intel is coming out with a new cpu which is really good, and AMD plans on reducing its prices.

So the CPU and the Mobo must match brand-wise?

How is everything else? and should they both be Intel or go to AMD?

oh and i noticed for only a few $ more you can get socket AM2 (newer). pretty much same performance, however, you'll have greater upgradeability.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103633

that means you'll have to make a couple of changes.

get an AM2 motherboard, and DDR2 memory instead of DDR. those changes appeal to you?!

yes the cpu socket needs to match the mobo socket.

the motherboard doesn't have to be AMD/Intel, it needs to support one of those.. they're usually made by 3rd party brands like asus msi, dfi etc.

since you're gaming go with AMD (this is true until conroe is released later this summer, when Intel, most likely, will have the upper hand in the cpu market.. )

edit: also, you should get this video card its cheaper.. it has mail in rebate.

the power supply you chose is weak, get this:

and get a better case, the one you chose is ugly

vaderpro, for the sake of upgradeability, i figured he should go with socket AM2. prices are pretty much the same.

and yes, stick with AMD. the 3500+ is MUCH better than the 3.0ghz intel, ESPECIALLY in gaming.
