Transferring OS from HDD to new SSD

Clean install will give the best results but requires more work since you need to save your data somewhere else, install the OS, re-install all of your programs, then copy back the data. You'll also need to reconfigure everything.

With cloning, you end up with an exact copy with everything in place, ready to go.

That includes any bugs or corrupted files too.
If you have certain software that you absolutely can not re-install due to licensing issues or something and need to get this done quickly with little time involved, then a clone is a good option. A clean install is better but only if your willing to do the extra work to back up your data and have everything in order as far as your drivers and software goes.

IMHO....
A clean install is kinda like working in a cold damp sewer for 12 hrs. and coming home to a nice hot shower

And nothing feels better than squeaky clean windows!
